You record a story. We transcribe it, arrange it into pages, illustrate those pages and play the story back using your own recording. Nubi is a tool for making a keepsake, not a childcare service, and it is not a substitute for you being in the room.
You do — the recording, the words and the pictures made from them. You give us only the narrow permission needed to run the service: to store your story, process it, and show it to anyone you send a link to. That permission ends when you delete the story. We will not put your story in marketing, in an example, or in front of another user without asking you first, in writing, each time.
One plan: $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year. A 7-day free trial comes first and we send a reminder two days before it ends; if you cancel before it ends you are charged nothing. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and cancelling is done in your Apple account. Refunds are Apple’s to give, though tell us if something went wrong and we will argue your side.
A plan covers up to eight fully illustrated stories a month. Past that, stories are still written, paged and narrated in your voice; new pictures resume when the month turns over.
Be an adult, and be the person speaking — do not upload someone else’s voice. Do not record anything illegal, hateful, sexual or designed to frighten a child. Do not try to break the service or resell it. If you do any of that we can close the account, and for anything unlawful we will.
Illustrations are generated automatically, so occasionally one comes out wrong — an odd hand, a character who looks nothing like the last page. Tell us and we will redraw it. We cannot promise a particular picture, a particular likeness, or that two stories never resemble each other. The words are always yours; the drawings are our best attempt at them.
You can stop paying at any time and keep every story you have made. You can delete everything at any time and we will not keep a copy. If we ever have to shut Nubi down, we will give you at least 90 days’ notice and a way to download your stories and your audio before the lights go out.
